Outreach Luncheon on the follow-up and implementation of the SIDS Accelerated Modalities of Action (S.A.M.O.A) Pathway

Thursday, October 31, 2019
1:15 – 2:45pm

Heads of State and Government, Ministers and representatives of Member States gathered at a high-level meeting at the United Nations Headquarters on 27 September 2019 to undertake a five‑year review of the landmark Small Island Developing States Accelerated Modalities of Action Pathway (SAMOA Pathway). The leaders assessed the progress made in addressing the vulnerabilities of small island developing states (SIDS) through the implementation of the SAMOA Pathway, a bold island centered sustainable development framework.

AOSIS remains deeply committed to the effective implementation of the SAMOA Pathway. On October 31, 2019, the Alliance held a wide-ranging outreach luncheon on the implementation process. During the luncheon, we considered issues such as a disaster risk reduction fund for SIDS, the need for concessional financing and robust indicators for progress under the SAMOA Pathway. peruse the remarks from last week’s outreach luncheon on the follow-up implementation process via the links below.
